The Martin County School Board approved Ms. Susanna Deutsch's appointment as the new principal of Pinewood Elementary School during its meeting on June 7, 2022. 

Ms. Deutsch joins the Martin County School District from Broward County Public Schools, where she most recently served as Principal of Peters Elementary School. She has many years of experience in budgetary planning and management, professional development, recruitment/hiring, curriculum implementation, continuous improvement, school improvement planning, course scheduling, data analysis and educator mentorship.    

Ms. Deutsch earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Florida International University and her graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University.

This is Ms. Morris' 37th year in Martin County School District.  She previously served as the Literacy Coach at Murray Middle School.  Her daughter, Brogan, who went through the MCSD graduated from UCF. She is a Growth Mindset presenter, which is already a way of thinking for the staff here. She is working to develop this philosophy at PWE and throughout the district.  She is glad to be back in  the elementary school setting, especially at PWE where amazing things are happening.
