The ELA Department and Media Specialist have put together an optional summer reading project for all SMS students. The project gives students the CHOICE to select a book they are interested in reading. Students also have CHOICE over the project they will complete that shows they read and understood the book. All students who fully participate in the Optional summer reading project will earn a 100% quiz grade in ELA, Positive Referral, and a token for the Book Vending Machine. Sunshine State Young Reader Award Books- These are a suggestion but student may choose any book of their choice to read.
