Large costs within the Hidden Oaks Middle School Band department will be taken care of next year thanks to fundraising efforts of the school and the surrounding community.
The HOMS band recently hosted its 31st Annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser, which includes numerous student performances and a silent auction.
This year, the fundraiser brought in $25,095 to help cover the costs of new symphonic uniforms, travel, Honor Band fees, solo and ensemble fees, new music, new instruments, maintenance and repair for old instruments and the annual Disney field trip. The new uniforms alone cost about $10,000.
Band parents, students, directors, school staff and community members collaborate to transform the cafeteria into this beloved annual fundraising tradition.
Performances included the Palm City Elementary School Band, Martin County High School Saxophone Quartet, HOMS Drumline, and the HOMS Marching Band.
A portion of the money raised will also go to the HOMS Color Guard.
