During the 2023-2024 school year, STEM education has been in the spotlight at J. D. Parker Elementary School.
School leaders and teachers prioritized incorporating science, technology, engineering and math studies in various activities in the classroom and during after-school celebrations.
In October, J. D. Parker Elementary hosted Hispanic Heritage and Math Night. Students participated in traditional performances highlighting Hispanic culture and displayed their math skills during several different math games.
In February, STEM was again in the spotlight at the school’s Black History Month event. Students dove into the history of Black leaders in STEM-related fields and shared their findings in front of family and friends.
