The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) team at Jensen Beach High School has been recognized for their outstanding commitment to community service, receiving the prestigious Silver Star Community Service Award for the 2023-2024 academic year.

AFJROTC at JBHS was one of 45 winners of the Silver Star Community Service Award. The team's efforts reflect not only their dedication to the AFJROTC program but also their deep-rooted commitment to serving their local community.

The Silver Star Community Service Award is the highest level award possible for a non-inspection year.

"On behalf of the school district, I want to congratulate the Jensen Beach JROTC for being awarded the Distinguished Unit Award this year," said Superintendent Michael Maine. "I am incredibly proud of your achievements and look forward to witnessing continued excellence from the program."

The Silver Star Community Service Award serves as a testament to the values instilled in the cadets through their participation in the AFJROTC program, emphasizing the importance of selflessness, leadership, and civic responsibility. It is a testament to their dedication and reflects positively on Jensen Beach High School as a whole.
