Project SEARCH students graduate

Five Martin County School District exceptional education students are ready for their new careers after graduating from the Project SEARCH program on May 22, 2024.

Project SEARCH is a national program within the Martin County School District that prepares young people with disabilities for success in competitive, integrated employment. It's a year-long transition program for students aged 18-21 that allows them to gain employability skills through internships, mentoring and real-world experiences.

The student interns spent most of their time at Cleveland Clinic, which graciously hosted the students as they worked on their employability skills. The students rotated in different hospital departments including the post-anesthesia care unit, environmental services and nutrition.

This program would not be possible without the support of the student’s parents, District leadership, educators and the incredible community partnerships with Cleveland Clinic, ARC of the Treasure Coast, Helping People Succeed and Vocational Rehabilitation.

All five students found a job through the program.
