The Martin County School District is proud to recognize Darlene Doucette, a Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) employee at Murray Middle School, for earning the Florida School Nutrition Association’s Community Humanitarian Award.
Darlene’s dedication goes beyond her role in the cafeteria, as she continually brings joy to both her students and the Martin County community.
Through her involvement with the St. Joseph's Prayer Shawl Ministry, Darlene crochets worry worms, prayer blankets, and caps for individuals facing difficult times.
Her compassionate efforts caught the attention of the Florida School Nutrition Association, leading her to earn this well-deserved recognition for the 2022-2023 school year.
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tracey Miller, FNS Director Laura Holmedal, Murray Middle School 23-24 Principal Jeffery Umbaugh and FNS Manager Carla Davidson presented Darlene with the award when it arrived in the District earlier in the 23-24 school year.
