New MCSD Assistant Principals

The Martin County School District is excited to announce the hiring of four new assistant principals.  

Ms. Anne Johnson has been hired as the new Assistant Principal of Student Services at Hidden Oaks Middle School.  

Ms. Johnson was most recently an Assistant Principal at Tradition Preparatory High School in Port St. Lucie.  

Before becoming an Assistant Principal at Tradition Preparatory High School, Ms. Johnson was a 6th Grade Teacher in Brevard County. She has also taught English and language arts at both the middle and high school levels.  

Ms. Johnson earned her undergraduate and master's degrees at Florida State University.  

Mr. Gregory Bottari has been hired as an Assistant Principal at J.D. Parker Elementary School.

Mr. Bottari was most recently the Principal of Barnum Woods Elementary School in East Meadow, New York. 

Before becoming Principal of Barnum Woods Elementary School, Mr. Bottari was the Principal at Mount Pleasant Elementary School in Smithtown, New York. Mr. Bottari has also served as an assistant principal and science teacher. 

Mr. Bottari earned his undergraduate degree in elementary education at the State University of New York at Oswego and his graduate degree in elementary education from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. 

Ms. Jacqueline Scott has been hired as the new Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School.  

Ms. Scott served as Assistant Principal of Student Services at Indiantown Middle School for the 2023-2024 school year.  

Before becoming Assistant Principal of Student Services at Indiantown Middle School, Ms. Scott was the Literacy Coach at South Fork High School from 2018-2020. She also served as a Literacy Coach and Reading Teacher at IMS from 2007-2018. 

Ms. Scott earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at the State University of New York College at Cortland and her graduate degrees in reading K-12 and school leadership from Florida Atlantic University. 

Dr. Justin Sherman has been hired as an Assistant Principal at Bessey Creek Elementary School.

Dr. Sherman most recently a School Counselor at Parkway Elementary School in St. Lucie County.  

Before becoming a School Counselor, Dr. Sherman taught kindergarten, 3rd grade, and was a media specialist at Oak Hammock K-8 in St. Lucie County.  

Dr. Sherman earned his undergraduate degree in elementary education from Flagler College in 2013. Since then, he has earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida, a Master of Science in Guidance and Counseling from the University of West Alabama, and a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Capella University. 

All hires are pending Board approval scheduled during the Regular School Board Meeting scheduled for June 18.
