During its meeting held June 18, the Martin County School Board completed its first performance evaluation of Superintendent Michael Maine, issuing high praise for his accomplishments and leadership through his inaugural year in the role. The comprehensive evaluation assessed Superintendent Maine's performance across the following six critical domains:
School Board Support
Program Development and Implementation
Financial Transparency and Sustainability
Human Resource and Personnel Management
Community, State, and Public Relations
Professional Skills and Abilities
Each domain contained four - seven performance indicators for which each Board Member evaluated the Superintendent's performance using the following scale:

1. Does Not Meet Expectations
The School Board's collective average ratings for Superintendent Maine's performance across each domain are as follows: .
Domain 1: School Board Support = 2.85/3
Domain 2: Program Delivery = 2.82/3
Domain 3: Financial Sustainability = 2.79/3
Domain 4: Human Resources Management and District Staff = 2.5/3
Domain 5: Community, State, and Public Relations = 2.82/3
Domain 6: Professional Skills and Abilities = 2.9/3
Also during the Board meeting, Superintendent Maine provided the School Board with five additional areas of focus for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year:
1. Continuous School Improvement and Student Achievement
2. Innovative Approaches to Systemwide Advancement
3. Proactive Process Improvement
4. Reduction of Out-of-School Suspensions and Disproportionality
5. Increased Visibility of the Superintendent in the Community and Schools
