The Martin County School District is excited to showcase the brand-new facilities and renovations students, faculty and families will be able to enjoy at South Fork High School and Stuart Middle School.
South Fork High School
The state-of-the-art gymnasium is nearly complete. The new gymnasium includes locker rooms for the athletes, referees and guest athletes. It also includes a weight room, multipurpose space for students, offices for faculty, storage, concession stands, and a data room.
Two pieces from the 40-year-old gym were saved and now hang on walls, which can be seen in the sneak peek video.
The gymnasium is expected to be ready in time for the Bulldogs’ first home volleyball game in August.
This project wouldn't be possible without the Martin County taxpayers, who generously voted to approve a half-cent sales tax increase in November 2018. The Martin County School District used that money to fund this expansive capital project, which included new ballfields, a new energy-saving chiller plant and this gymnasium.
The video also shows renovations made to the media center and front office.
Stuart Middle School
The video below also provides a sneak preview of the brand-new Administration Building and Media Center at Stuart Middle School.
While some buildings at SMS date back to before the 1950s, the original Admin Building/Media Center was built in 1971.
The video shows the new front office, clinic, media center, technology lab and news studio.
This project was funded through the District's capital budget and offers an upgraded space for both students and staff. These improvements ensure that everyone at Stuart Middle School is equipped with the most up-to-date facilities needed for success.
