The Martin County School District and Martin County Education Association have reached a tentative salary agreement for the 2024-2025 school year in their first negotiating session related to salaries, positioning the Martin County School District to be the highest paying school district on the Treasure Coast for starting teacher pay pending Board ratification.
In the coming weeks, both the MCSD and the MCEA will continue negotiations to discuss health insurance and salary supplements.
Then, once both parties tentatively agree on all contractual variables, the agreement will need to be ratified by MCEA, and then by the Martin County School Board, before bargaining-unit members will begin to receive payments.
The tentatively agreed upon salary adjustment includes the following:
Across the board raise that will award each bargaining unit-eligible member a 3.1% salary increase.
Performance Pay in the following amounts:
Annual Contract: Highly Effective - $100
Annual Contract: Effective - $75
Professional Services Contract: Highly Effective - $75
Professional Services Contract: Effective - $50

To calculate the tentatively agreed upon raises, the MCSD and MCEA pooled together $1,161,512.91 of TSIA funds from the state and $1,300,000.00 from the District for a total of $2,461,512.91 devoted to both salary increases, and performance pay raises.
