The Martin County School District proudly recognizes the 374 students who were designated as AP Capstone Scholars™, AP Scholars with Honor™, AP Scholars of Distinction™, or who earned their AP Capstone Diploma™ or AP Seminar and Research Certificate™ during the 2023-2024 school year.

These students achieved an impressive average score of 3.7 on their AP exams, with AP Scholars of Distinction earning an average exam score of 4.53.

At South Fork High School, 52 students were named AP Capstone Scholars™, with 29 earning the AP Scholar with Honor™ title and 23 being honored as AP Scholars of Distinction™. Their hard work is reflected in an admirable average score of 3.67 on their AP exams, with their AP Scholars of Distinction earning an average score of 4.31.

Jensen Beach High School, where students have the opportunity to earn the prestigious AP Capstone Diploma™ and AP Seminar and Research Certificate™, proudly celebrates 77 AP Capstone Scholars™, 44 AP Scholars with Honor™, 76 AP Scholars of Distinction™, 17 AP Capstone Diploma™ recipients, and six students who earned the AP Seminar and Research Certificate™. Their dedication is evident in their average score of 3.6, with top achievers reaching an average of 4.09.

“We couldn’t be more proud of our students who not only earned prestigious designations in the AP Capstone program but also achieved impressive scores on their AP exams,” Superintendent Michael Maine shared. “Their commitment to academic excellence, supported by our dedicated teachers, has prepared them exceptionally well for the future. These achievements reflect the high standards and relentless pursuit of knowledge that define our district."

To receive the AP Capstone Diploma™, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and on four additional AP® Exams of their choice. To receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research.

Unlike the traditional AP® exams with one end-of-year assessment, AP Seminar and AP Research take a dynamic, hands-on approach. These courses are about mastering real-world skills through group projects, presentations, and essays spread throughout the year. Instead of being limited to one subject, students are encouraged to dive into research projects of personal interest. They are evaluated on critical thinking, research, collaboration, time management, and presentation skills.
