On Monday, September 9, South Fork High School was awarded a generous $20,000 donation from Edward Jones to purchase financial calculators and help fund the campus' Bulldog Closet.
With the donation, the school will be able to purchase approximately 900 financial calculators for all freshman and sophomore students.
The funds will also help purchase new clothing racks and storage items for the school's popular Bulldog Closet.
The Bulldog Closet, which relies on donations from students and community members, offers affordable clothing and essentials to those in need within the school community.
Representatives from Edward Jones said the firm has made a commitment to increase financial literacy amongst students, and that South Fork High School was a perfect fit for their donation.
All freshmen in the Martin County School District are required to take a financial literacy course.
The partnership between South Fork High School and Edward Jones highlights the power of community collaboration in supporting educational initiatives and student-led projects.
The school is grateful for this support and looks forward to the positive outcomes it will bring.
