In response to the damage and devastation caused by Hurricane Milton, the Martin County School District partnered with the Education Foundation of Martin County to create a relief fund to assist employees, students and families impacted by the storm.
At this time, this is the only sanctioned relief effort endorsed by the District.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity and compassion of our community as we work to assist those in need, including the ongoing restoration efforts at Murray Middle School. However, we respectfully ask that all fundraising efforts be channeled through the EFMC’s established fund. The District is responsible for handling the repair and restoration of school properties, such as Murray Middle School, through our budget and insurance, as is standard protocol for any situation requiring property to be repaired or replaced.
Our teams are actively assessing the status of learning resources, including instruments, as we prepare for the return of students on Monday, October 14. At that time, we will be able to better assess the needs of our employees, students and families.
