South Fork High School’s Bulldog Closet, recently featured on WPTV NewsChannel 5, is a student-run thrift store that provides a wide range of trendy clothing, hygiene products, school supplies, and even prom attire for students. This unique initiative is managed primarily by student volunteers, who earn community service hours by washing clothes, pricing items, and working in the store to ensure it meets their peers' needs.

Open to all students, the Bulldog Closet also provides students and families facing hardship time to shop privately for essentials. The store’s offerings are frequently updated with donations, including youthful clothing, shoes, and accessories.

“The prom dresses came from a bridal store in Alabama,” shared Kyle Gorton, a South Fork High School math teacher and faculty supporter of the Bulldog Closet.

“Along with clothing, we provide hygiene products and a full range of school supplies to support students,” added Addison, a junior and dedicated student volunteer.

The Bulldog Closet has thrived thanks to the generous support of the community.

“We recently received a $10,000 donation from our local Edward Jones, which will allow us to expand our offerings,” said South Fork High School Principal Jaime Thompson.

Superintendent Michael Maine, who was impressed by the Closet’s impact, assisted with its expansion into a larger space this school year.

The Bulldog Closet continues to seek donations of trendy and popular items. Community members interested in supporting this effort are encouraged to contact South Fork High School.
