Families at Crystal Lake Elementary School recently enjoyed an evening filled with literacy-themed fun during the Education Foundation of Martin County’s (EFMC) Book Bonanza. This free event brought students, parents, and teachers together to celebrate the joy of reading through engaging activities.
From taking Accelerated Reader (AR) tests to meeting beloved storybook characters, families participated in various activities designed to promote a love for reading. Students were also thrilled to show their families how the EFMC’s book vending machine works, proudly using tokens they’ve earned to select new books.
So far, for the 2024-2025 school year, Book Bonanza events have been hosted at Hobe Sound Elementary School, Citrus Grove Elementary School, Bessey Creek Elementary School, Palm City Elementary School and Crystal Lake Elementary School.
Three more events are scheduled for this school year at the following locations:
Pinewood Elementary School on January 23, 2025
Port Salerno Elementary School on January 29, 2025
SeaWind Elementary School on February 12, 2025
Families must pre-register to attend these events. You can sign up here.
