Superintendent Michael Maine and all five members of the Martin County School Board – Christia Li Roberts (District 1), Marsha Powers (District 2), Jennifer Russell (District 3), Amy Pritchett (District 4), and Dr. Brian Moriarty (District 5) – joined over 425 educational leaders from across Florida for the 79th Annual FSBA/FADSS Joint Conference, held December 3–6 in Tampa.
The conference, themed "Game Changers," provided an opportunity for Martin County’s leaders to collaborate with peers, gain valuable insights, and explore innovative strategies to benefit students and schools in the district.
Superintendent Maine and board members attended engaging keynote addresses from renowned speakers, including Damon West, whose empowering "Be a Coffee Bean" message inspired leaders to create meaningful change in their communities, and Rennie Curran, a former NFL linebacker and leadership coach, who shared actionable strategies for building teamwork and driving success in education.
Breakout sessions explored critical topics such as school safety, family engagement, and leadership best practices, equipping attendees with new tools and perspectives to address the challenges facing public education today. A highlight of the conference was the Student Panel Discussion, where student leaders offered powerful insights into the experiences and needs of Florida’s students.
"This conference reinforced the importance of collaboration and innovation in our mission to provide an exceptional education for every student," Superintendent Maine shared. "It was a privilege to represent Martin County alongside our dedicated school board members as we learned from and engaged with leaders across the state."
As the district continues its commitment to student achievement and community engagement, the insights gained from this conference will help shape future initiatives and policies, ensuring that Martin County students have every opportunity to succeed.
