During scheduled Impasse Hearing on December 12, the Martin County Education Association (MCEA) requested a continuance and agreed to submit to ratification all tentatively agreed documents the Board has approved, including the 2024-2025 salary proposal.
The Martin County School Board (MCSB) indicated that it was prepared to proceed with the scheduled impasse hearing and reaffirmed the issues at impasse. Given that Board wishes for its teachers to be paid based on their tentatively agreed upon raises, they agreed to the continuance.
An impasse hearing will be scheduled at a mutually convenient time for both parties.
The MCEA-related Memorandum of Agreements and salary proposal are subject to ratification by the bargaining unit membership. MCEA anticipates the ratification package will be voted upon by union membership and completed by December 20, 2024. We encourage all members to participate in the upcoming ratification process to ensure your voice is heard.
These agreements prioritize support for the hardworking employees of the Martin County School District and reflect our shared commitment to enhancing compensation and alleviating rising healthcare costs.
