JBHS New media center

Jensen Beach High School students are ready to soar into the new year and explore more of their newly renovated Innovation and Knowledge Center.

Formerly known as the media center, the Innovation and Knowledge Center has undergone a beautiful and modern transformation thanks to input from students, faculty, and community members. JBHS staff hosted a ribbon cutting to unveil the new space on November 6, 2024.

“It has been a whole year in the making with input from our students, faculty, CTE teachers, media specialists, and community members,” Lori Vogel, Jensen Beach High School Principal, shared. “This was a project of the heart, with lots of love, and our students got to drive this project. That’s what’s most important about it.”

Students played a vital role in the design process, ensuring the space met their needs. Equipped with cutting-edge Makerspace technology, including 3D printers, sewing machines, a laser cutter, and even a banner-making machine– the Innovation and Knowledge Center was renovated to foster group learning, hands-on projects, and cross-discipline collaboration.

The space also includes flexible furniture, allowing students and teachers to rearrange tables, chairs, and even bookshelves to suit their projects and activities.
