MARTIN COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Martin County School District middle school students excelled at this year’s MATHCOUNTS Treasure Coast Regional Competition, taking home nine out of the top 10 individual awards, as well as the top spots in the Overall Team and Ciphering Team categories.

This tournament was held at Indian River State College’s Main Campus in Fort Pierce on Friday, February 21, 2025. All five Martin County School District-operated middle schools were represented at this annual competition for elite middle school mathletes from St. Lucie, Martin, Okeechobee, and Highlands counties. MCSD students showcased their hard work, talent, and dedication, dominating the competition.

"I am incredibly proud of our students for their outstanding performance at the Treasure Coast Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition,” Superintendent Michael Maine shared. “Their dominance in both individual and team categories are a testament to their hard work, determination, and the outstanding education they receive in our schools."

• 2nd Place: Stuart Middle School

• 7th: Joseph Murray, Hidden Oaks Middle School

• 8th: John Morgan, Stuart Middle School

• 9th: Jackson Friedrichs, Hidden Oaks Middle School

• 10th: Eshan Patel, Stuart Middle School

The Hidden Oaks Middle and Stuart Middle teams will go on to represent the Treasure Coast Region–and our district–at the State MATHCOUNTS Competition in Daytona Beach in March 2025.
