The Martin County School District is in the process of adopting new instructional materials for the upcoming school years and invites the public to participate in the review and approval process.
As part of the state’s recommended adoption timeline, instructional materials for Personal Financial Literacy and Money Management (grades 9-12), English Language Arts (ELA) Intervention (grades K-3), and Mathematics Intervention (grades K-4) are set to be implemented in the 2025-2026 school year. Core English Language Arts materials (grades K-12) are scheduled for implementation in 2026-2027.
Upcoming Public Meetings
The School Board will hold a public hearing on March 25, 2025, during its Regular School Board Meeting to review committee recommendations and hear feedback from the community. The final vote on the recommended materials is scheduled to take place during the April 15, 2025, Board Meeting. If the Board votes to approve the new materials during the April 15, 2025 Board Meeting, a 30-day objection window will immediately follow.

Committee Recommendations
Following a thorough review process—including public comments, evaluations, and publisher presentations—the adoption committees have recommended at least two materials per subject area. This ensures flexibility in case a resource is not included on the state’s final adoption list and allows for cost-effective decision-making.
