Superintendent Michael Maine will recommend Ms. Kristen Register as the new Coordinator of Professional Learning during the March 25, 2025 School Board Meeting.
A dedicated instructional leader with extensive experience in coaching, curriculum development, and teacher training, Register brings a passion for fostering high-quality professional development opportunities for educators.
Register has been a driving force behind instructional excellence in the district, serving as an Instructional Coach and AVID Site Team Coordinator at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School before transitioning to the Department of Professional Learning. She has played a pivotal role in implementing AVID strategies districtwide, launching initiatives like "WICOR Wednesday" to enhance instructional capacity among educators.
In her new role, Register will oversee the planning and execution of district-wide professional learning events, collaborate with school leadership teams to refine instructional practices, and design programs such as the Aspiring Assistant Principal Academy and the MCSD Coaching Course. Her experience facilitating professional development at the national level, coupled with her commitment to teacher growth, makes her a valuable addition to the Professional Learning team.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University, Register holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and has earned multiple certifications, including endorsements in Exceptional Student Education, Reading, and Civics. She is also an AVID District Leadership Team Co-Director and a recognized leader in instructional coaching.
