The Martin County School District appreciates the continued patience and understanding exhibited by our families and employees as we navigated uncertain weather conditions throughout the week. Hurricane Ian has left a path of unfathomable destruction - our hearts and thoughts remain with our fellow Floridians whose lives have been forever changed by this massive storm.
The District continues to carefully monitor local weather conditions alongside our partners at Martin County Emergency Management. Teams have been working to address any individual needs that may exist for our schools and office sites. Fortunately, our District was spared from receiving significant, severe damage from the storm. As a result, we will resume classes and operations tomorrow, September 30, 2022.
Due to power outages that may exist in our community, Food & Nutrition Services will offer free meals to all students tomorrow. All employees will return to their normal schedules - employees who are not able to return to work tomorrow are asked to make contact with their supervisors today. Schools may have canceled or postponed activities and athletic events for the remainder of the week - families should watch for additional information coming from individual schools about the status of these events.
We look forward to safely welcoming our students and employees back to our campuses and offices tomorrow.
