Each year, the Florida Association for Media in Education (FAME) selects well-written, high-interest books for statewide reading contests. CGE participates in the SSYRA Jr (K-2) and SSYRA (3-5) programs.

We encourage our 3rd - 5th graders to read at least 3 Sunshine State books independently to earn brag tags and other prizes. Kindergarten - 2nd graders may participate by reading the 15 SSYRA Junior selections independently, in the classroom, and as part of library lessons throughout the year.

To earn prizes for completing an SSYRA book, take the MCSDReads quiz for it and earn a 70% or higher. (Please visit the library if your score does not reach 70% 😊)

• Finish 3 by March 1st to vote in the statewide contest
