MartinArts hosted its first Chalk Mural Art Competition during the 2024 ArtsFest on February 10 and 11, 2024, inviting Martin County School District middle school students to submit work and compete for prizes.
Ahead of the competition, MartinArts Artist in Residence Danuta Rothschild visited each middle school, teaching students how to work with chalk and bring their creative ideas to life.
During ArtsFest, students designed and colored their chalk art mural—with the theme of 'A Landscape of Hope for Our Community'—in front of hundreds of festival attendees. Festival attendees were invited to vote for their favorite chalk art mural.
