Camp WET is a program developed and implemented by the Environmental Studies Center (ESC) in Jensen Beach, Florida. ESC was established in 1972 by the Martin County School Board to provide high quality environmental education programs to Martin County School District students.

Camp WET is a proven program that sensitizes Martin County School District incoming 5th and 6th grade students to local and regional environmental issues by utilizing a series of hands-on field investigations over the course. ESC has been conducting the Camp WET program since 1993.

A curriculum developed for Camp WET focused on the Indian River Lagoon (IRL).  Students learned about the importance of the habitats of the IRL including sea grass beds, mangroves, barrier islands, spoil islands and open water habitats. They learned how salinity fluctuations, freshwater discharges, storm water inputs and ocean inlets affect the IRL ecosystem.  Students also experienced the recreational benefits of the IRL by participating in fishing, cast netting, and boating.

Students are nominated by the Martin County School District school they attend.
