**Information for the 2022-23 School Year**
School meal program changes - A federal program that has provided children with free meals throughout the pandemic has expired. As a result of this expiration, the Martin County School District will resume its pre-pandemic operations for school meals in August 2022:
1) Breakfast and lunch will still be available to all students; however, they will no longer be free to all students. Parents/guardians of students who do not attend one of the schools listed below will need to complete a Free and Reduced-Price Meal Application to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced-priced meals will pay for school meals according to the following schedule:
Breakfast Lunch
K-5 $ 1.50 $1.85
6-12 $ 1.50 $2.10
Reduced-price $0.30 $0.40
**BONUS** The Martin County School District will pay for all students to eat free the first 3 days of school (August 10-12). Please complete a free/reduced-price meal application for your family if you believe your child(ren) is/are eligible for free or reduced-price meals. The application will be available in mid-July.
7th Grade Immunizations (middle schools ONLY) - The Florida Department of Health requires students entering 7th grade to provide proof of having received an additional dose of the Tdap vaccine. Please provide a copy of your child’s current Florida Certification of Immunization form (DH 680 form) to our school prior to the first day of classes on August 10.
Paper Tutoring (middle and high Schools ONLY) - Free, 24/7 access to virtual tutoring for more than 200 subject areas is available to all middle and high school students enrolled in the Martin County School District. Paper’s expert tutors are a great resource for students who are looking to strengthen their skills, need help with assignments or would like feedback on essays they’ve written. To access the platform, students should sign in to ClassLink using their District credentials and click the “Paper” icon.

4th quarter report cards for middle and high school students are now available in the FOCUS Parent Portal. Students who were enrolled in a course requiring an End-of-Course (EOC) exam will receive their grades later this month once test results have been received from the Florida Department of Education.

Our Food & Nutrition Services Department will continue to offer free meals to children aged 18 and under during the summer months with no income restrictions. Breakfasts and lunches will be served beginning on Tuesday, May 31.

The voter-approved half-mill property tax has funded an extra School Resource Officer (SRO) at each MCSD-operated high school for the last four years.
The Martin County School Board wants to know if you think this should be continued if the half-mill is renewed by voters on August 23, 2022.

The in-person orientation will include a tour, the Zoom orientation will include extended opportunities for Q&A. Parents and students should choose the option that works better for your family. Four outstanding Martin County students participated in the Academic Games Leagues of America's (AGLOA) recent national tournament in Knoxville, Tennessee!
Martin County students participated in all three subject areas - LinguiSHTIK, Equations and Social Studies - at the national tournament. They had a wonderful experience exploring a new city and meeting students from throughout the country.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's AmeriCorps program is helping the Martin County School District close the achievement gap one student at a time!
Monday - Friday, AmeriCorps members spend their time in classrooms working with students on their reading. The program is made possible through a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs and Volunteer Florida.

🤝CELEBRATING PARTNERSHIP🤝
The Martin County School District held its annual Volunteer & Business Partner Awards Ceremony on April 14, honoring many outstanding members of our community for their donation of their time and talents to our students and schools.
More than 2,400 volunteers donated approximately 42,000 hours of their time in service to children in the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years, resulting in an estimated impact equivalent to $1.2M.
We feel honored and extremely fortunate to be able to continue educating all students for success in our generous, giving, engaged and helpful Martin County community!
