💗 CHARACTER COUNTS! 💗
In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, the Martin County School District is proud to announce the revitalization of an important program that will contribute to #MCSDTheRippleEffect and reframe how mental wellness support is delivered to students.
"Character Counts! is not new to the Martin County School District," Superintendent John D. Millay shared during a kickoff event held at the Palm City Chamber of Commerce last week. "When I say we're revitalizing it, we're bringing it front and center."

🎨CELEBRATING ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS🎨
Ms. Ashley Monks, Indiantown Middle School's art teacher, recently attended the Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) conference and received her beautiful (and well-deserved) 2022 FAEA Middle School Art Educator of the Year award!
When presented with the award, FAEA leaders said: "She has thrived as an art educator at IMS. Ashley is an active grant writer. Some of the grants are Thankamericasteacher.com, Donorschoose.org, Education Foundation of Martin County. As of today, her classroom has received well over $40,000 in funding...Ashley, we are so lucky to have you as part of the FAEA."
Congratulations Ms. Monks! We are so grateful to have you as part of the Martin County School District family!

💗CULTIVATING EXCELLENT CHARACTER💗
Trustworthiness. Respect. Responsibility. Fairness. Caring. Citizenship. These six pillars of character are the core ethical values of CHARACTER COUNTS! program, which has historically provided the Martin County School District with a meaningful, measurable and sustainable framework to help schools build students' character traits and shape a positive learning environment.

Thunderbirds Alert: The IMS Student Council will be honoring the end of Hispanic Heritage Month this Friday with a spirit day! Students can wear something to represent their favorite Hispanic country. This could be a jersey from their favorite team, a shirt with the country’s name or flag on it, clothing related to their culture or heritage, or just dressing in the colors of their country’s flag.

🚨SAFETY FIRST🚨
Families - please ensure your child wears their school-issued ID badge daily. These ID badges are an essential component of our overall safety plan. In addition, your child's badge allows them to easily perform certain school-related functions, such as boarding/exiting their school bus, purchasing meals or checking out materials from the media center.
If your child needs a new badge, please contact their school.
