🎨CELEBRATING ARTISTIC ACHIEVEMENTS🎨 Congratulations to Ms. Ashley Monks, Indiantown Middle School's art teacher, for being named the 2022 Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) Middle School Art Educator of the Year! Ms. Monks has been teaching for 15 years, 8 of those years with the Martin County School District at IMS. She is loved by her students and her coworkers, who would say she is a great teammate and team leader. Throughout her career with MCSD, Ms. Monks has achieved many accomplishments, including being named the 2021 mARTies Art Educator of the Year and the IMS 2018 Teacher of the Year. On top of being an amazing art teacher, Ms. Monks also leads the Green Club at IMS! Martin County School District @MCSDFlorida • Just now 🍽NOURISHING ALL STUDENTS FOR SUCCESS🍽 Check out the amazing transformation from an ordinary school bus to food service on wheels! @MCSDFlorida's Food & Nutrition Department, along with Wildar Golf Carts & Trailers went #ALLINMartin to feed kids who can't travel to feeding sites. lack of transportation to feeding sites is one of the largest barriers to meal access faced by students when school is not in session. Using Food Service funds, the District sought to address this challenge by remodeling an older school bus into a mobile kitchen and dining area for students. The new summer feeding bus, which is capable of seating more than 20 children, comes equipped with coolers and containers to ensure proper food storage requirements are met. The Florida Department of Education released school and district grades for the 2021-2022 school year today. MCSD earned the highest percentage of "A" rated schools on the Treasure Coast and was just three points shy of earning an "A" district grade in the state accountability system.
