Mrs. Ryan's class is doing construction for PLAYS this week! We are learning all about building and the different jobs construction workers can do!
Music classes are enjoying a week of sound stations and a glow party! We are singing, playing, moving and creating! And having lots of fun learning and reinforcing our musical concepts 🎵🎶
Mrs Clark's 2nd graders earned 20 compliment coins. They decided to have a stuffy party Friday and had so much fun dancing with their stuffies at the end of the day!
📆HURRICANE MAKEUP DAYS📆
Reminder for families: Hurricane season doesn't officially end until Nov. 30. As we near the end of the season, we want to remind Martin County families of the scheduled Emergency Makeup Days built into the 2023-2024 School Calendar.
We are also nearing the first set up Emergency Makeup Days on our Instructional Calendar, which precedes Thanksgiving Break (Nov. 20-21). These days may be used to make up instructional time in the event we need to close for one or more storms.
IF we do NOT experience any emergency situations or storms requiring us to use one or more of these Emergency Makeup Days, those two days will be added to Thanksgiving Break, giving students the week away from school (Nov. 20-24). At this time, that appears to be the case.
If we experience conditions that would necessitate making up one or more school days, we will provide notice of the appropriate date(s) to families and employees as soon as possible.
The Martin County School Board approved the 2023-2024 School Calendar during its meeting on Nov. 22, 2022. To view the calendar, click here: https://www.martinschools.org/page/calendars

Mrs. Monaghan's 3rd graders love to
take their learning outside. Students went on a nature walk to record observations of plant parts and types.
Fourth grade students continue to do amazing collaboration on our sculptures made from recycled materials during art enrichment. Painting the sculptures is extra fun! A big THANK YOU goes out to middle school helper, Maxwell Law! He has been a tremendous help to us with this project!

Some 3rd,4th, and 5th graders tried out for the perennial math team today. They worked hard to try and solve higher order thinking questions.
Fifth graders were amazed to see how temperature affects molecules! First they put glow sticks in cold, hot and room temperature water to see how it affected the brightness. Then they put a drop of food coloring in each to observe how the temperature affected how fast the color spread.
2nd grade got a special visitor today when Deputy Mike came in and read to them and answered questions about being a police officer. This tied in nicely with their new reading unit on government workers. Thank you Deputy Mike 💙👮🏼♂️
