Martin County High School’s own Coach John Leon has been named the 2024‑25 Florida Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year — and our Tiger Family couldn’t be prouder! 🎉
Since taking the helm in 2010, Coach Leon has built a powerhouse basketball program with a 313–71 record (.815!), 8 district championships, 12 regional playoff appearances, 2 Final Four trips, and a 2022 State Championship. 🔥
His impact goes far beyond the scoreboard. Coach Leon has helped 16+ athletes continue their careers in college, all while serving as a dedicated dean and mentor on campus for the past 12 years.
Superintendent Michael Maine sums it up best: Coach Leon sets the standard for excellence — pushing athletes to grow as competitors, students, and leaders.
As if that’s not enough… Coach Leon has now been nominated for the NHSACA National Coach of the Year!

MCHS AVID students recently had the incredible opportunity to hear from Raul Ocampo and his team from Architects Design Collaborative LLC!
Mr. Ocampo shared valuable insights into his career as an architect and encouraged students to think outside the box, challenge themselves, and push beyond their comfort zones.

Are you planning to earn the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship? Early Evaluations begin THIS MARCH, and now is the time to make sure you’re on track! 🔗✨
The Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance will review seniors for early qualification — and meeting the requirements before this evaluation window helps prevent delays for Summer 2026 awards.
To qualify during early evaluation, you must complete ALL FIVE requirements:
1️⃣ Submit your Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA) — the state application.

2️⃣ Finish all required coursework through your 7th semester
(+ have your 8th semester classes in progress)
