๐YOUTH OF THE YEAR๐
On Tuesday night, Superintendent Michael Maine and members of the School Board recognized Martin County High School senior Jomar Zelaya, who was named the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's 2024 Youth of the Year.
Jomar, who represents the Port Salerno club, is a nine-year member of the BGCMC. He started as a young mentee, and grew into one of the mentors he looked up to. Jomar has performed more than 500 hours of community service, is a dual-enrolled honor student, and is a winner of the Character Counts Joe Kordick Award. He aspires to become an orthopedic surgeon.
In addition to being celebrated locally throughout the year, Jomar will move on to represent Martin County in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Florida's 2024 Youth of the Year competition!
