Murray Lions past and present gathered for breakfast this morning. We shared some good food, laughs, and tears as we said goodby to three retirees: Jerri Skiles, Carol Forbes, and Tami De James. Once a Lion, always a Lion! ❤️🦁🦁🦁
Congratulations to the class of 2027 - they had a wonderful 8th grade promotion ceremony. Words of Encouragement came from our own Principal Umbaugh, who spoke to both the late bloomers and the over-achievers in his message. Special thanks to the Martin County High School Color Guards for their presentation of the Colors.

Scribble Bots have taken over Mrs. Jerrells' 6th grade Science class! Students built and ran these little artistic robots.
Russell & Peak's 8th graders work on the annual end of the year build project.
In Art class, students planned out three design options and were then given Oreo cookies and a toothpick to carve out their summer plans. It's a wonderful lesson on positive and negative space. Was it more fun carving up the cream or eating the designs?
STEM adventures- Grade 6. All 6th grade students at MMS will get the opportunity to build and test a wind turbine. Mrs. Jerrells' class will build the basic models and then experiment with modifications before competing to see who can generate the most electricity!
🍎SHOWING APPRECIATION🍎
We are continuing our #ThankATeacher shoutouts this morning, starting off with spotlighting Ms. Janet Pace from Murray Middle School!
"Mrs. Pace is a wonderful teacher at Murray because she cares about her student's wellbeing," grateful parent Laura Copley shared. "She is extremely approachable and is always available. She and I communicated this whole school year and she treated my son and I with respect. Because of her empathy and sense of humor, science is my son's favorite subject. The children find her funny and my son appreciates the positive environment she creates for her students. Thank you Mrs. Pace! You made 6th grade more enjoyable for my son."
Thank you, Ms. Pace, for going above and beyond for your students!

🍎SHOWING APPRECIATION🍎
This afternoon, we continue our Teacher Appreciation shoutouts with Murray Middle School teacher Ms. Michele Jerrells!
"My mom, Michele Jerrells, has worked at Murray Middle School for 20 years, and the impact she has made on not only me, but also the school district is incredible," grateful daughter Sabrina shared. "She has inspired me AND my brother to become teachers in the MCSD. After 20 years, she continues to spread her passion for teaching through her students, children, and student teachers. I was in her class my final year at Murray, and I got the opportunity to witness the impact she has made on her students' lives. Her commitment to education and her ability to inspire others has helped shape the person I am today."
Thank you, Ms. Jerrells, for everything you do for your students!
