Students from Palm City Elementary recently placed 3rd out of 19 teams at the state-level Odyssey of the Mind competition in Orlando.
The PCE team was coached by Amanda Moore.
Odyssey of the Mind is an academic competition that teaches students how to develop and use their natural creativity to become problem solvers. Students who participate in Odyssey of the Mind learn about teamwork, budgeting, time management, public speaking and much more.
"Placing third out of 18 teams is truly an outstanding accomplishment, and I couldn't be prouder of the students and staff involved," said Superintendent Michael Maine.
Students from Jensen Beach Elementary also participating in this year's state competition and were coached by Bridget Austin.
"I also want to recognize the Jensen Beach Elementary team for their commendable performance; they are winners in our book," said Maine. "It's clear they put in a tremendous effort, and I applaud their talent and dedication."
Currently, only elementary students in the Martin County School District participate, however, middle school students will be able to compete beginning next year.
Congratulations to all students and coaches who participated in the competition, especially those who represented MCSD with excellence.
