Mrs. Lauren Rabener

PRINCIPAL

Mrs. Rabener has been a part of the Martin County School District for 15 years and is entering her 17th year in education. A New Jersey native, she graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Psychology and Elementary Education.  To further her education, she enrolled at Florida Atlantic University where she earned her Master's in Educational Leadership. She has two children, one at PCE and one off to Hidden Oaks Middle School. In her free time she enjoys spending free time with her family, reading professional books and novels, and enjoying our beautiful beaches.

During her first years in education, Mrs. Rabener taught kindergarten in Broward County before serving as a kindergarten, first grade teacher, and literacy coach at Port Salerno Elementary for five years. In 2013, Mrs. Rabener became the literacy coach at Bessey Creek Elementary before moving to Palm City Elementary School as the assistant principal in 2017. After 5 years of being the assistant principal at PCE, she was promoted to principal in September of 2022.

Always a learner, Mrs. Rabener participated in the National Institute for School Leadership (NISL) and became a Certified NISL Educator. She also was part of the Martin County School District's first cohort with The Leadership Academy. She has provided countless professional development opportunities for Martin County School District and is proud to call Palm City Elementary home. 

During the upcoming school year she plans to continue the legacy of academic excellence that PCE has earned with the support of our teachers, staff, the community, parents, and the PCE PTA. #AllPAWSIn

Mrs. Elizabeth Atkinson

ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Mrs. Atkinson, a seasoned educator entering her 18th year in education, proudly serves as the Assistant Principal at Palm City Elementary. Her journey in education, spanning from K-5 both in Florida and Georgia, reflects her unwavering commitment to championing equity and inclusivity in the learning environment. Mrs. Atkinson is a strong advocate for the integration of science and hands-on learning approaches, believing in the power of practical application to enhance student engagement and comprehension. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom, as she actively promotes community involvement and collaborative efforts to foster student achievement for all learners.

As a proud alumni of Palm City Elementary, Mrs. Atkinson embodies a deep-rooted connection to the school and its values. Her academic pursuits at Florida State University and the University of Georgia have equipped her with a diverse range of skills and knowledge essential for educational leadership. Mrs. Atkinson's engagement in initiatives such as the National Writing Project showcases her passion for literacy and communication skills development. Currently enrolled in the Aspiring Principals Program, she exemplifies her continuous commitment to growth and excellence in educational leadership, aspiring to make a lasting impact on the education landscape.

Her philosophy centers on nurturing a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
