"We remember those who were called upon to give all a person can give, and we remember those who were prepared to make that sacrifice if it were demanded of them in the line of duty, though it never was. Most of all, we remember the devotion and gallantry with which all of them ennobled their nation as they became champions of a noble cause."
- Ronald Reagan, 40th President of the United States of America

đź’— CHARACTER COUNTS! đź’—
In partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County, the Martin County School District is proud to announce the revitalization of an important program that will contribute to #MCSDTheRippleEffect and reframe how mental wellness support is delivered to students.
"Character Counts! is not new to the Martin County School District," Superintendent John D. Millay shared during a kickoff event held at the Palm City Chamber of Commerce last week. "When I say we're revitalizing it, we're bringing it front and center."

🚨SAFETY FIRST🚨
Families - please ensure your child wears their school-issued ID badge daily. These ID badges are an essential component of our overall safety plan. In addition, your child's badge allows them to easily perform certain school-related functions, such as boarding/exiting their school bus, purchasing meals or checking out materials from the media center.
If your child needs a new badge, please contact their school.

🍎SHARING KNOWLEDGE ON A NATIONAL STAGE🍎
Spectrum Academy Principal Janice Mills joined Mr. David O'Brien, Regional Expansion Director of Project LIFT, to deploy #MCSDTheRippleEffect during their presentation at the National Dropout Prevention Center's annual conference this week!
Speaking from personal experience about the partnership between Spectrum and Project LIFT, Ms. Mills and Mr. O'Brien discussed the many ways public-private partnerships can help change the trajectory of at-risk youth. The presentation helped educators, clinicians and dropout prevention personnel from throughout the country understand how the disruption of a traditional system, coupled with effective strategies for dropout prevention, can lead to improved graduation rates and reduced mental health/substance abuse concerns for students. Ms. Mills was our Martin County School District Principal of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year.
