February is CTE month! Career and Technical education are courses taught with career skills in mind. Did you know that CTE has its very own honor society? National Technical Honor Society at South Fork had their second annual induction in November with officers Gabby Roussel, Alex DeYoung, Natalia Aguirre, Madison Summa and Kate Cannon leading the characters of pillar and inducting 22 new members. FREE ADMISSION to the Martin County Fair and Youth Livestock Show on Monday, Feb. 12! You read that right! Martin County School District students will have free admission to the fair on Monday, Feb. 12, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. when they show their Student's Day Passport at the gate. Students can grab their passport book from their teacher or with the link below. Students can get stamps from any four activities and return the passport to their teacher for PBIS/Student Engagement points! Remember, Monday, Feb. 12 is a teacher workday, so students have the day off. What better way to spend the day than at the fair, for free! This flyer is NOT the actual passport. ⚖️CELEBRATING CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS⚖️ In partnership with the YMCA of The Treasure Coast and Florida YMCA Youth In Government, student teams from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School competed in the 2024 Constitutional Debate Competition on Friday, February 2. Each team debated the U.S. Supreme Court case “Mahoney Area School District vs B.L.” before presiding 19th Judicial Circuit Court judges - the Honorable Kathleen Roberts and the Honorable Jennifer Alcorta Waters. During the debate, students made opening and closing arguments and answered questions from the judges. The two teams advancing in the competition are Nira Goyal (Senior) & Nina Goyal (Freshman) from MCHS and Savannah Kautz (Junior) & Ameera Mehan (Junior) from SFHS. 🎾HYDRATING HOPE🎾 Martin County School District high school athletes joined in on the celebrations for an incredible donation to Ms. Rina's House Of Blessings and Elev8hope Compassion in Action. Gatorade, in partnership with Serena Williams, donated $50,000 through the Equity in Sports initiative. Elev8Hope goes #ALLINMartin👊 24/7, 365 days of the year for the most vulnerable residents in our community, including students.
