Mission

To Educate All Students for Success

Vision

To Become A Dynamic Educational System of Excellence

Welcome to the Martin County School District! Located on Florida's pristine Treasure Coast,  we proudly educate approximately 18,000 PK-12 students in our 12 elementary schools, 5 middle schools, 3 comprehensive high schools, 3 special centers, 4 preschool centers and 2 adult education campuses.  The District is fully accredited by Cognia, the accreditation organization for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI).

Top Reasons to Partner with MCSD for Your Child’s Education

  • Educating ALL students for success is more than a mission statement. Our three high schools - Jensen Beach, Martin County and South Fork - earned a collective graduation rate of 90.3% in 2023. This outpaced Florida's average of 88%.

  • Technology is the norm. Each student has access to their own laptop or Chromebook. Students are taught and encouraged to collaborate digitally with one another and how to keep track of their assignments. Our students expertly navigate Google Classroom, ClassLink, Schoology and many other digital learning platforms.

  • Character education is key. We partner with United Way of Martin County to ensure all students are educated on the six pillars of excellent character - trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship. Students are recognized throughout the year for demonstrating these traits. High school students have the opportunity to earn scholarships for demonstrating their commitment to the six pillars.

  • Opportunities are endless. With more than 25 Career & Technical Education (CTE) academies, four college preparatory programs (Advanced Placement Capstone, International Baccalaureate, Cambridge AICE and AVID), renowned arts and athletics programs, and numerous extracurricular options, our schools offer something for every learner.

  • Conservation and sustainability matter. The District was honored by the U.S. Department of Education as a Green Ribbon School Award winner in 2020. We also earned the Florida Department of Education's Silver Green School Award the same year. The Students4H20 organization also calls Martin County home - this student-led non-profit organizes a variety of activities each year that empower students to use their knowledge and creativity to create a sustainable world. Our one-of-a-kind Environmental Studies Center, known as "the gem of Martin County", provides students in grades K-7 with opportunities to participate in hands-on explorations of the Indian River Lagoon, Hutchinson Island beaches, mangrove communities, freshwater ponds, wetlands and more!

  • STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) concepts and opportunities are deeply embedded in our curriculum across all grade levels. A new robotics elective for elementary and middle school students was launched in 2021. As part of our Career & Technical Education (CTE) course offerings, students have the opportunity to experience real-world learning in areas such as digital design, civil/structural drafting, engineering, building construction technology, digital video technology, medical nursing/first responder/assisting/sports medicine, and more! Martin County is also home to one of the most decorated FIRST® robotics teams in the world - FRC Team 180 S.P.A.M.

  • We are committed to fiscal accountability and transparency. We've earned the Government Finance Officers Association's "Excellence in Financial Reporting" award for 17 consecutive years. The Association of School Business Officials International has recognized MCSD as a recipient of its "Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting" award for 17 consecutive years.

  • Our educators are excellent. They boast an average of 11 years of teaching experience and more than 30% hold advanced degrees. In 2021, more than 85% were rated "Effective" or "Highly Effective" in the state's teacher evaluation system.

  • Tailored support is available to all. Dedicated school counselors, social service workers, psychologists, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, special education teachers and many other professionals provide mental health and exceptional student education services in all schools.

  • Safety is paramount. MCSD was one of the first districts in the nation to launch the Centegix CrisisAlert system, putting the ability to immediately call for help in the hands of every staff member in the District. All students and employees are trained in the standard response protocol and how to report suspicious activity. The Martin County Sheriff's Office is our partner in safety, assigning at least one dedicated school resource officer to every campus.

  • Community involvement is unparalleled. Martin County is one of the most philanthropic communities you'll find anywhere in the world. Each year, local residents, groups and organizations support our students and schools in a variety of ways -donating their time and talents as volunteers, funding scholarships, partnering with us to bring new initiatives to our classrooms and more! More than 3,300 volunteers donated approximately 46,000 hours of their time in service to children in the 2022-2023 school year, resulting in an estimated impact equivalent to $1.3M.
