The Martin County School District Head Start Program is a federally funded program serving three, four and five year old children and their families in Port Salerno, Stuart, and Indiantown.
Head Start provides a comprehensive program which is child-focused and aimed at increasing the social competence and school readiness of young children from low-income families. Individualized services are provided in the areas of education, early childhood development, medical, dental, and mental health, nutrition, and parent involvement. Head Start offers family members opportunities and support for growth and change. The program is committed to building community partnerships, enabling Head Start to provide resources and services to children and their families. The Head Start program utilizes the mandatory Head Start Program Performance Standards to ensure that high quality services are provided to the children and their families.
