🌟CELEBRATING NEW LEADERSHIP🌟 During the Special Meeting Tuesday night, the Martin County School Board approved the appointment of Mr. Jeffrey Carver as the new Director of Purchasing and Warehouse! Mr. Carver is no stranger to Martin County, having worked for the District as the Purchasing Manager from 2003-2009 and as the Director of Purchasing from 2009-2016. He returns to the Martin County School District after serving as the Director of Purchasing for the School District of Indian River County. He had also served in similar roles for St. Lucie Public Schools and the Florida Army National Guard. Congratulations and welcome back, Mr. Carver! #ALLINMartin👊

🥍CELEBRATING ATHLETIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS🥍 Congratulations to Kai Valko, a Jensen Beach High School rising junior, who has been selected to the 2024 National Team Development Program by USA Lacrosse! Kai was one of 100 girls chosen in the nation to join the program. She was one of only three girls from Florida who made it to the second stage of the selection process. The purpose of the development program is for building the future of the US National team. This past season, Kai set a new Treasure Coast record with an incredible 106 goals! 🍎CELEBRATING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE🍎 In April, more than 150 Martin County School District students were celebrated for earning a PERFECT score on one or more state assessments in the 2022-2023 school year. Fewer than 1% of students in Florida can say they earned this incredible achievement. Attaining perfection is just one part of a larger story of success, as our students have continued their pursuit of excellence--evident in the recent overall assessment results from the 2023-2024 school year! 🌟CELEBRATING NEW LEADERSHIP🌟 The Martin County School Board recently approved the appointments of Ms. Trisha Elliott as the new Principal of Hobe Sound Elementary School and Dr. Dianne Memmer-Novak as the new Manager of Extended Day. Ms. Elliott joins the Eagle family from Hidden Oaks Middle School, where she recently served as Principal and Assistant Principal prior to that. She has 27 years of experience in education, with nearly 10 of those years in elementary education. Dr. Dianne Memmer-Novak, the former Principal of Hobe Sound Elementary, has served in a leadership role for the past 13 years at elementary schools within the Martin County School District. She brings more than 30 years of educational experience to the role of Extended Day Manager. 🍎STATE ASSESSMENT RESULTS RELEASED🍎 The Florida Department of Education released state assessment results for the 2023-2024 school year, and the Martin County School District excelled! Our students have demonstrated outstanding achievements across multiple subjects and grade levels, surpassing state averages and setting new benchmarks for excellence. Notable Achievements: 💫MCSD outperformed Palm Beach County in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed St. Lucie Public Schools in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed Indian River County in Algebra, Civics, and Writing. We are proud to announce that MCSD ranks #1 on the Treasure Coast in both Algebra and Civics, and is performing above the state average in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Writing, Science, and Civics. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) is a program that equips students with the academic, organizational, and critical thinking skills necessary for higher education or career readiness. Our dedicated leaders and innovative teachers delved deep into research-based instructional practices and college and career readiness. 📚SUMMER READING FUN📚 The Early Learning Coalition of Indian River, Martin & Okeechobee team recently organized an incredible literacy event for future Warfield Elementary School Warriors attending summer camp at Perkins Early Childhood Center! It was a family-fun event full of activities and games that can be played at home to support literacy education and included tons of free books and giveaways.
