🎨SALUTE TO SERVICE🎨 Art students from Martin County High School and Jensen Beach High School in collaboration with Palm City Chamber of Commerce, Commissioner Ed Ciampi and the Palm City Post Office will commence the painting of a mural of the east wall of the post office. 📚CELEBRATING LOCAL LEADERS📚 We're proud to recognize Ms. Gertrude Pettway in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth. Ms. Pettway was an educational leader in Hobe Sound beginning in the 1960s. In 1985, she was named the first black South Regional Teacher of the Year. #ALLINMartin👊

📚CELEBRATING LEADERS AND TRAILBLAZERS📚 Today, we celebrate our first of many local leaders in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth. Dr. David L. Anderson was an educational pioneer in Martin County, having served as a School Board Member and also in various leadership roles at Indian River State College for more than 30 years. In 2006, he was honored as the namesake of Martin County's newest middle school - Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School. Dr. Anderson passed away on December 23, 2021, at the age of 80. Slowly but surely, the Environmental Studies Center has resumed its on-site field trips. To ensure transportation requirements are met throughout the District, as well as to allow the Center to welcome as many children as possible, students in grades 2-5 will have the opportunity to visit this school year. The Center offers many opportunities for the community to visit throughout the year, including the upcoming Grandparents Day which will be held this Saturday, February 5!
