She was an educator, philanthropist and humanitarian who started a private school for Black students in Daytona Beach. That school continued to build and eventually became Bethune-Cookman University. #ALLINMartin 👊

Our three high schools - Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School - earned a collective graduation rate of 97.1% in 2021. 📚CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY📚 Ms. E. Thelma Waters was a celebrated civic leader in the Village of Indiantown whom we celebrate for #BlackHistoryMonth! She was named to the Florida Commission on the Status of Women in 2020 and was one of three people who signed the Articles of Incorporation for the Village of Indiantown. #ALLINMartin 👊
