📚PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE📚 📣Calling all high school families! The Jensen Beach High PTSA has partnered with Class 101 of the Treasure Coast to offer ALL local high school students an ACT practice test opportunity. The practice test will be administered on Saturday, Sept. 30, at Jensen Beach High School. The exam will be proctored, timed, and graded by Class 101. Class 101 will provide a free, one-hour consultation to review test results. The cost of the test is $25 - all proceeds go directly to JBHS PTSA. The deadline to register is Monday, Sept. 25. 💵📈STOCK ABOUT IT📈💵 The Martin County School District's Personal Financial Literacy Teachers recently teamed up to talk lesson plans for this brand-new course. In March, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1054, requiring high school students to take a financial literacy course to receive a standard high school diploma. With first-year teacher Mr. Terrell Mabins leading the way, our Personal Financial Literacy Teachers collaborate to create an encompassing curriculum to educate and empower our students. This curriculum aims to give our students the knowledge and skills to make wise financial choices and pave the way for a prosperous future. #ALLINMartin👊 #MCSDBetterTogether💫

🍎PARTNERS IN EDUCATION🍎 Thank you to all the amazing families who attended Curriculum Night at our high schools last night! Families not only got to dive into what their students will be learning throughout the year, but they also explored the unique and FUN clubs and opportunities available for students! At Spectrum Academy, Project LIFT's Welding and CDL Mobile Training Center piqued everyone's interest. Students, parents and teachers gave it a shot and loved it! Every year, FACA recognizes the top athletic programs in each classification with this award, named after second Executive Director Carey McDonald. The organization uses two criteria to select the winner: Whole School Membership and the athletic program’s finish in the Florida High School Athletic Association Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award. The students, coaches and the entire athletic department at JBHS earned this award through their dedication and hard work. Hurricane Idalia is rapidly approaching the west coast of Florida and is expected to bring powerful winds and storm surge as it approaches Category 3 strength. While Martin County is not currently operating under any storm-related watches or warnings, our area is expected to experience heavy rains and wind gusts from the storm. Any time severe weather has the potential to impact our area, the Martin County School District works closely with national, state, and county management officials, including the Martin County Emergency Operations Center, to determine how operations may be impacted. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our students, employees, and families. We will continue to monitor the path of the storm and will provide updates as needed through our mass notification (callout/text) system, website and social media channels. We encourage families and employees to make necessary preparations that will help ensure their safety during severe weather conditions, such as reviewing emergency plans and stocking up on essential supplies. We encourage you to take advantage of the Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which began this past weekend. It lasts until Friday, September 8. We appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we continue to monitor local weather conditions.
