📏➕CELEBRATING ALL-STAR MATHLETES➕📏 Palm City Elementary School students were presented with a huge trophy last night for winning the first-ever 5th Grade Math Olympics! Kayla Glancy, Dylan Hamilton, Evan Martinez, Connor Gray and Elsa Peng, with the help of their Math Coach, Ms. Julia Garcia, competed in various rounds involving problem-solving, critical thinking, and speed math against the 11 other elementary schools in the District. These PAWesome Wildcats were victorious and get to house the Math Olympics trophy until the next inaugural games! Congratulations! #ALLINMartin👊

🚌LEAVING A LEGACY🚌 Superintendent Michael Maine and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of Mr. Fred "Jimmy" Walton on Tuesday evening. Jimmy has served the Martin County School District for 36 years, starting in 1988 as a bus mechanic at just 21 years old. Through his decades of service, he has done an outstanding job ensuring the school bus fleet was safe to transport students. Thank you, Jimmy, for your dedication and hard work. 🤝CREATING LASTING CONNECTIONS🤝 Our Florida Teacher of the Year, Melissa Matz, visited the Martin County School District last week. She attended and presented an "EdTalk" session at the District's 6th annual H.A.P.P.Y. Conference on Thursday, where teachers learned about diving in taking on challenges with their students. Ms. Matz then saw students in action on Friday at Felix A. Williams Elementary. "A four-year member of the MCHS Bowling team, John was awarded the designation as a member of the District All-Area Bowling Team, averaging over 210 for the bowling season and won the High School District Championship in his senior year. John also worked for the Martin County School District, assisting students at Citrus Grove Elementary School with their laptop computers...We are incredibly proud of you and the young man you’ve become! ⚛️SISTERS IN STEM⚛️ The Goyal sisters are crushing it in the STEM field and want to inspire more girls to do the same! Nina Goyal, a junior at Martin County High School, and her sister Nira Goyal, an eighth grader at Hidden Oaks Middle School, appeared on CBS 12 News Friday morning to talk about their most recent accomplishments. Both sisters made Martin County School District history; this was the first year two students won in their respective categories at the annual State Science and Engineering Fair of Florida! We wish Nira Goyal good luck while competing in the Intel International Science and Engineering STEM Competition in Dallas! Congratulations to these sisters!
