🍎ASPIRING TO GROW AS LEADERS🍎 Ten Martin County School District educators have earned their School Principal Certification after attending the Aspiring Principal Academy. Their journey started last summer during a two-week-long intensive and continued throughout the past year. During this academy, these aspiring principals had quarterly site visits and full-day learning sessions. They also implemented a "change project" at their schools. The Professional Development team created this academy with the goal of building an innovative, rigorous, practical and comprehensive, collaborative and reflective program to help prepare these educators to be future principals. Each educator finished the program as an even stronger leader. 🍎LEAVING A LEGACY🍎 Last night, Superintendent Michael Maine and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of Felix A. Williams Elementary's Ms. Valerie Young-Baldwin. Ms. Baldwin has served the Martin County School District for 36 wonderful years! She started her career as an educator at Jensen Beach Elementary School, teaching 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. She later transferred to FAWE as a media specialist, where she became known as the Book Wizard because she had all the books. Over the years Ms. Baldwin has participated in the Education Foundation of Martin County's Robotics Program, the Academic Games and Book Bowls. Thank you, Ms. Baldwin, for your dedication to your students and for nurturing their love of reading for the last 36 years! We wish you the best in retirement. #ALLINMartin👊

🌊🐢PARTNERS IN EDUCATION🐢🌊 Last night, Superintendent Michael Maine, the Martin County School Board, and the Environmental Studies Center were presented with a donation from the Environmental Studies Council. The donation will help partially fund the salary and benefits of one teacher at the one-of-a-kind ESC for one year. 🏃GOING THE DISTANCE🏃 Congratulations to the Martin County High School distance runner, sophomore Robbie Ziskinder, for competing nationally at adidas Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina, over the weekend! Robbie competed in the 1500-meter run after running a nationally qualifying time in his event. Robbie is the 6th (and youngest) MCHS track athlete to compete nationally in the past three years. He's prepared to lead the boys cross-country team through another strong season! #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud

🚨BEHIND THE BADGE🚨 In an effort to better serve our students, employees and schools while enhancing our collaborative relationship with our law enforcement partners, Director of Safety & Security Frank Frangella recently earned his Florida law enforcement certification and now is a proud member of the City of Stuart Police Department! He’s pictured here with Chief Joseph Tumminelli after his swearing-in ceremony as a reserved officer. Before he arrived in Martin County, Mr. Frangella spent 20 years as a detective for the NYPD (including as a 9/11 first responder) and four years as an investigator with the New Jersey Department of Education's Office of Fiscal Accountability and Compliance. Mr. Frangella remains passionate about the safety and security of our most precious resource- our children. #ALLINMartin👊

Teachers and leaders from Dr. David L. Anderson Middle, Hidden Oaks Middle School, Indiantown Middle School, Stuart Middle School, Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and the District Office went to represent! At this annual gathering, math teachers and administrators from all over the state meet to increase their pedagogical knowledge, share innovative ideas, and make connections with others who continuously strive to improve math instruction. Hard work, perseverance and the Bulldog spirit helped these cadets lead the way and WIN during JRTOC Summer Camp! The South Fork High School recently returned from summer camp and came home with huge accomplishments! The all-female cadet company won “Honor Company” – beating out two all-male and another all-female company. One of the cadets, Rylie Siemsen, was ranked Top 10% of all cadets in attendance and received an award! Congratulations, Bulldogs!

📚SUMMER LEARNING📚 Educational and fun summer learning happens here in the Martin County School District! During STEM time, 4th-grade (incoming 5th-grade) students at Warfield Elementary School learned how to design their own house by creating blueprints! They had to calculate the area and perimeter of each room! Plus, students in Ms. Burns’ class had a blast learning a new math game! #ALLINMartin👊
