🚀BLAST OFF TO KINDERGARTEN🚀
The countdown to kindergarten is on in the Martin County School District!
T-7 days until our kindergarten orientation events, where families with rising kindergartners learn everything they need to be prepared for August!
During the events, families will tour their child's zoned elementary school, meet the principal and leadership team, visit a kindergarten classroom, learn how to prepare their child for success in kindergarten and enroll their child in our high-performing school district.
Not to mention, families will leave with a sweet goody bag!

Students at Warfield Elementary School were treated to so many marvelous guest readers during Celebrate Literacy Week!
They had guest readers from the Martin County Sheriff's Office, Martin County Fire Rescue, District staff, Indiantown Middle School Principal Jeff Raimann, School Board Vice Chair Jennifer Russell, the Village of Indiantown Mayor, Children's Services Council of Martin County members and many more!

🐹FAVORITE CLASS PET🐹
At Hobe Sound Elementary School, students celebrated literacy week ALL MONTH LONG by diving deep into a beloved classic, "The World According to Humphrey" by Betty G. Birney.
Last night, families joined in on the fun for an evening all about Humphrey!
Humphrey says, “you can learn a lot about life by observing another species.” The students had fun listening to the story, writing about the story, and interacting with the pet stuffed hamster provided to each classroom. Humphrey made lots of friends, had lots of adventures and added joy to Room 26 in the book and each of the classrooms at Hobe Sound!
Students at Hobe Sound fell in love with Humphrey and with 12 books in the series, they have a lot more reading to do. Up next, "Friendship According to Humphrey!"

Students at J.D. Parker Elementary and Jensen Beach Elementary School were diving deep into literacy week with Ms. Valerie Gaynor, the Coordinator of the Environmental Studies Council Center!
Ms. Valerie shared her passion for diving and underwater photography and her inspiration behind them with students. She helps students splash into new worlds, specifically bringing the underwater world into focus!
Students learned about all sorts of different career choices and dreaming BIG!

Congratulations to Ty Raimann, a South Fork High School senior, for being awarded 3rd Place in Florida’s VFW “Voice of Democracy" contest!
Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW's premier scholarship program. Nearly 80,000 high school students across the country compete each year for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme was “Why Is The Veteran Important?”
Ty will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship to the University he plans to attend in August.

🛠CELEBRATING NEW BEGINNINGS🛠
Superintendent Dr. John D. Millay, Deputy Superintendent Michael Maine, School Board Chair Marsha B. Powers (District 2) and School Board Vice Chair Jennifer Russell (District 3) attended the topping-off ceremony for the new Indiantown High School building today. Indiantown High School is a new public charter school operated by IRSC - Indian River State College and located in the Village of Indiantown, FL Government. The school opened its doors for ninth-grade students this school year on the Boys & Girls Clubs of Martin County's Indiantown campus. The state-of-the-art 60,000-square-foot building that is being constructed at SW Citrus Blvd. will allow the school to expand to serve all high school grade levels in the coming years.
IRSC President Dr. Tim Moore led the ceremony, which featured current students signing their names to the final roof beam that was placed on the new building.

The Martin County School District recently held the 57th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee at Jensen Beach High School.
Students from all twelve of the District's elementary schools participated in seven rounds of competition, tackling tough words such as '"aardvark," "anathema," and "celestial."
The winner of the Bee, Olivia Priddy from SeaWind Elementary - Hobe Sound, FL, nailed the winning word, "eschew."

🔬CELEBRATING STEM EXCELLENCE🔬
Clark Advanced Learning Center junior Jasmine Nunez has been selected as the Martin County School District's representative for the Florida Department of Education's 2023 Sunshine State Scholars program!
Jensen Beach High School junior Nathan Bartley has been selected as this year's alternate.
The Sunshine State Scholars program recognizes Florida's top-performing 11th graders in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Each scholar, along with their parents, will travel to Orlando for an extraordinary program designed to bring together scholars from around the state, connect them with employers that specialize in the STEM fields, and create a networking opportunity between the scholars and schools from Florida’s College and State University System.
