At Citrus Grove, dressing up isn't just for celebrating Halloween, it's also an innovative way to teach history. That is why you may have seen James Madison in our hallways and classrooms last week!
As part of a unit about the Constitution and our Founding Fathers, Mr. Justin Council helped history come alive by sharing the contributions of Madison with our 3rd graders. It was an extra special experience for Mrs. Molina-Council, who envisioned the idea and convinced her husband to play the starring role. "It was a wonderful event," she shared, "and we used what we learned to create a constitution for our class and connect it to being future good citizens."
Mr. Council added, "the students were excellent listeners as I brought this important historical figure to life in teaching about good citizenship. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience!"
We love when friends and family participate in our lessons! If you would like to be a guest reader, speaker, or volunteer in your child's classroom, please contact his/her teacher or our PTA.
