🌟CELEBRATING NEW LEADERSHIP🌟 The Martin County School Board recently approved the appointments of Ms. Trisha Elliott as the new Principal of Hobe Sound Elementary School and Dr. Dianne Memmer-Novak as the new Manager of Extended Day. Ms. Elliott joins the Eagle family from Hidden Oaks Middle School, where she recently served as Principal and Assistant Principal prior to that. She has 27 years of experience in education, with nearly 10 of those years in elementary education. Dr. Dianne Memmer-Novak, the former Principal of Hobe Sound Elementary, has served in a leadership role for the past 13 years at elementary schools within the Martin County School District. She brings more than 30 years of educational experience to the role of Extended Day Manager. 🍎STATE ASSESSMENT RESULTS RELEASED🍎 The Florida Department of Education released state assessment results for the 2023-2024 school year, and the Martin County School District excelled! Our students have demonstrated outstanding achievements across multiple subjects and grade levels, surpassing state averages and setting new benchmarks for excellence. Notable Achievements: 💫MCSD outperformed Palm Beach County in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed St. Lucie Public Schools in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed Indian River County in Algebra, Civics, and Writing. 🇺🇸HOLIDAY OFFICE HOURS🇺🇸 The Martin County School District Office and school sites will be closed to the public from July 1 - 5 in observance of Independence Day. Extended Day and our free Summer Meal Program will continue as scheduled throughout the week. Families will only be permitted to enter school campuses for activities related to these services. Both services will be closed on July 4th. Extended Day will be open on July 5th. ⛈HSE WEATHER ALERT⛈ We've experienced extreme inclement weather in the area near campus today, including a suspected tornado. It's important for our families to know that students and staff participating in summer programs are completely safe. Right now, out of an abundance of caution, parents/visitors are not permitted to enter campus. Once given the all clear to bring buses onto campus, we will transport all students who are on campus to Port Salerno Elementary School for pickup. We ask families to remain patient and stay tuned for more info. Students and remain safe and families will be contacted once buses are leaving our campus for Port Salerno Elementary School. Our Food & Nutrition Services Department continues to offer free meals to ALL children aged 18 and under during the summer months with no income restrictions. Breakfasts and lunches are now being served at a few locations, but more sites will be available starting June 3. Our Summer Feeding Bus is back on the road this year! 🎉CELEBRATING MATHLETES🎉 This past weekend, all Martin County School District-operated elementary schools participated in the 2nd Annual MCSD 5th Grade Math Olympics! The arena: Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School. The events: individual and team rounds in problem-solving, critical thinking, and speed math. Every team was shooting for gold, but after the calculations were tallied, the Crystal Lake Elementary School Hawks won the gold, earning the title of District Champion. The Jensen Beach Elementary School Vikings took home silver and the J.D. Parker Elementary School Rockets got the bronze.
