🌮Taco’Bout Amazing!🤩
The Hobe Sound Elementary Odyssey of the Mind team competed with schools from 6 surrounding counties in the Palms Regional Odyssey of the Mind Competition, taking Second Place for their project! 🏅
They worked hard to create a mechanical animal(robot) which performed tricks assigned by the judges, wrote a play to perform the tricks, made their own scenery and costumes…STEAM and Teamwork at its best!
Thank you Mrs. Cagni for coaching and supporting the HSE OM team this year.

🌟Celebrating Responsibility 🌟
Today, Mrs. Ruiz's Grade 1️⃣ class arrived to school ready to learn, including 100% in attendance and 100% wearing HSE Student IDs. They were celebrated with a bonus recess with Mrs. Elliott. Way to go, Eagles. We are seeking a streak of this responsible behavior!

MCSD Reads provides opportunities for students to read independently, demonstrate an understanding of what they read and increase their independent reading fluency. Students will take the Accelerated Reader quizzes through the MCSD Reads icon in ClassLink. They will be given a charm once they achieve 25, 50, 75, and 100 points. In addition, students will be recognized on the morning announcements and have their names displayed on our Reading bulletin board. We look forward to having more students earn their charms and free books! Congratulations to first graders: River from Ms. Ruiz's class earned 25 points, Collin from Ms. Thompson's class earned 10 points, Kaysea from Ms. Samuel's class earned 10 points and Paul and Fiona from Ms. Aylsworth's class earned 10 points. From third grade: Ms. Quinn's class - Samantha joined the 35 point club (and a brag tag), Dahlia joined the 10 point club (and a brag tag) and Allison joined the 50 point club. From 4th grade: Aubery from Mrs. Cagni’s class joined the 50-point club .

This weekend, five of our Hobe Sound Elementary teachers—Mrs. Brandt, Ms. Devoe, Ms. Dolan, Mrs. Sherman, and Coach—spent their Saturday learning about marine conservation with the Inwater Research Group. Through the Exploring Authentic Conservation Education: Teachers as Ambassadors for Change workshop, offered by the FAU-Stiles-Nicholson STEM Teacher Academy, they gained hands-on experience with real-world conservation efforts.
The Everglades is home to several threatened and endangered species of sea turtles, including the loggerhead, green, leatherback, Kemp’s Ridley, and hawksbill. Our teachers are excited to bring what they learned back to the classroom, inspiring students to help protect Florida’s unique ecosystems. We’re proud to have such dedicated educators making a difference! #HSEGreenSchool #SeaTurtleConservation #STEMEducation #EvergladesChampions #InwaterResearch
