🌟 WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU 🌟
10 days left!! 📣 Parents, please take a moment to fill out the Martin County School District's annual Satisfaction & Engagement Survey to provide your input!
ℹ️ These surveys provide an avenue for family feedback that is vital in the development and monitoring of strategies that enhance the learning experience for our students.
Parents of students in grades PreK-12, we need YOU! Your submissions are kept anonymous, and it's important a survey is filled out for each child's school, if applicable.
➡️School administrators and teachers eagerly await your feedback this year, comparing it with last year's baseline results to analyze progress. Your input is the key to continuous improvement! Take the survey here: https://survey.5-essentials.org/martin/
The feedback from these surveys is invaluable! MCSD appreciates every stakeholder who partners with us in our mission to provide excellent education for all students.

🍎CHOOSING THE BEST🍎
During an Emergency Meeting held this evening, the Martin County School Board voted to add Martin County High School and Jensen Beach High School to the list of approved Controlled Open Enrollment schools for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
This means in AND out-of-county residents can apply to ANY MCSD-operated school during the application period that will open tomorrow, March 1 – March 31.
For high school students, applications for signature programs are no longer required as part of the Choice process, but must be completed if your child would like to be considered for entrance into a signature program.
ℹ️Students accepted into a Controlled Open Enrollment choice option must have their own mode of transportation to and from school. Students are not required to renew their applications annually and will be permitted to attend their chosen school through the highest grade level offered on the campus.

📚CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY📚
Today, we are honored to celebrate two trailblazers of education in Martin County for #BlackHistoryMonth.
Dr. David L. Anderson was an educational pioneer in Martin County, having served as a School Board Member (the longest-serving member in Martin County and Florida!) and in various leadership roles at IRSC - Indian River State College for more than 30 years. In 2006, he was honored as the namesake of the Martin County School District's newest middle school - Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School.
Ms. Gertrude Pettway was an educational leader in the Hobe Sound community. She founded the Humpty Dumpty Kindergarten, now known as the Hobe Sound Early Learning Center, and was the first Kindergarten teacher at Hobe Sound Elementary School. In 1985, she was named the first black South Regional Teacher of the Year.

🔔NEW START TIMES FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR🔔
The Martin County School Board approved new school start times for the 2024-2025 School Year during its regular Board Meeting tonight.
Florida HB 733, passed in 2023, requires school districts to comply with new middle and high school start times beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
To comply with the legislation, Martin County School District school start and end times have been adjusted for the 2024-2025 school year.
Because we are implementing the new times before the mandated year (2026-2027), the District will receive funds from the Florida Department of Education, which a portion of will be used to purchase a school bus tracking system for families. This system will allow verified parents and guardians to see when the bus will arrive at its stop in the mornings and afternoons, and if there are any delays along the route.
Read more about the new times, legislation and bus tracking system here: https://www.martinschools.org/article/1413309
