Mrs. Allen's AP Biology students had their own version of March Madness with March MAMMAL madness! Over a month's time, students enjoyed competitions about fictional, yet scientific, battles between different organisms. It was a fun way to review both the evolution and ecology units. Congrats to the students who researched combatants and had the most accurate predictions. Over two dozen faculty, and staff also participated. The Beach Announcements Monday, April 7, 2025 Happening Today: College Fair for all Juniors 9:30-11:00 AM. The Media/Innovation Center is closed today from 9 a.m. to noon. Media Interns should report to Guidance. Heads up for tomorrow: United for Jensen 7:45 AM Cafeteria. AFJROTC Staff meeting @ 7:45 AM. Chess Club meeting in 4-139 at 3:15. S.T.A.N.D General Meeting 3:15 in 4-221. The Junior College Fair will be held today from 9:30-11:00 AM for all interested Juniors. You may come to the cafeteria for either or both 2nd and 3rd periods. Report to 2nd period for attendance. You must have your ID on your teal lanyard scanned to enter. At 11:00 AM, all Juniors in the cafeteria will be released to their 3rd period class. 25 colleges will have admission counselors representing their schools! This is a great opportunity for you to begin networking and explore the possibilities! Grad Bash 4:00 PM-2:00 AM SENIORS: The LAST day Herff Jones will be on campus to order your cap & gown will be Tuesday, April 8th, during lunches only. Otherwise, you will need to order online. Please be aware that they will shut down the website at midnight on April 18th. If you do not purchase by this date, you will need to go in person to purchase and pick up a gown at the Herff Jones office in Lake Worth. IRSC will host a Parent University on Dual Enrollment on Thursday, April 10th, in the School Board Meeting Room #2 at 6 pm. This will be similar in nature to the DE orientation sessions previously held in person at the Chastain campus each semester. However, the presentation will be from the school district’s perspective and will include topics such as the DE Library as well as the failure and withdrawal policies. Parents and students are welcome to stay for IRSC application assistance from 7-8 pm. Dr. Cuba, from IRSC, will also be in attendance. Sports News Good luck to the teams who travel for games today: Tennis and JV Baseball. Come on out to cheer for our home games: boys’ and girls’ lacrosse and Varsity baseball, all at 6:00 PM. Let’s go, Falcons! The girls’ soccer banquet will be held tonight in the cafeteria at 6:00 PM.
